Boss Tommy Wright claimed last week the midfielder emptied his locker and disappeared following the club's win over Hamilton Accies on May 16.
Mulumbu's unexplained absence has been an unwelcome sideshow for the manager, although he insisted some of his players were happy to see the 34-year-old leave.
Killie trail Dundee 2-1 from their Premiership play-off final first leg and face a monumental return leg on Monday night. Mulumbu has now had his say on Twitter, insisting he is "obviously not the reason" the Ayrshiremen are facing the drop.
