Before anything else, the chef cut off the top or stem of the red onion. Unlike how many do, Mazie decided to not cut through the root of the vegetable.

She then made a curved groove in one part of the onion which allowed her to peel it with no issue. After she stripped the onion of its outer layer, Mazie turned it on its side and began to slice it into rings.Half-way through, the chef then put the chopped end onto the surface with the root facing upwards – which she then cut through. Now in two halves, Mazie continued to slice the red onion towards the root without effecting the structure of it."Don't cut through the root, the onion won't hold together", she advised.

Mazie then managed to dice some of the onion, which enabled her to have two styles of the veg to serve. Her technique has gone down a treat with TikTok users as some even deemed it as 'life changing'.One person commented: "That's how you do it, I've always just did it the wrong way because no one ever taught me the proper way."Another user added: "A complete life changer, I love cooking and using fresh veggies.
