X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson tells police of ‘years of abuse’ in music industry as pop world braced for #MeToo cases

REBECCA Ferguson has reportedly told police about the "years of abuse" experienced in music the industry. The X Factor star, 34, is said to have spoken to cops earlier this month to report allegations of harassment and coercive control against a senior male industry figure.

Ms Ferguson, who found fame on the X Factor in 2010, claims she was targeted while working to build her career after coming runner-up on the hit ITV show, The Mail on Sunday reports.

As well as going to the Metropolitan Police, Rebecca is said to have met Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden to discuss problems within the industry, after calling for an "immediate inquiry" to "change the way people are allowed to operate in this industry".
