Cristiano Ronaldo is third in a predicted list of the world’s 100 highest-paid athletes, sitting behind Lionel Messi and Conor McGregor.The Juventus forward has suffered a tough season, with his side missing out on the Serie A title for the first time in 10 years and failing to mount any real challenge in the Champions League.
But it has not stopped the Portuguese superstar from earning the big bucks through his social media endorsements. Ronaldo’s financial success, though, has only put him third on Sportico’s predicted list for the top 100 highest-paid athletes.
It is topped by McGregor, with The Notorious taking a big payday despite suffering defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 earlier this year to sit on £146.5m.
