There were three different guild award ceremonies on Sunday, but the one that studio executives were paying the most attention to was the Writers Guild of America Awards.
And, no, it wasn’t because they were looking for more guidance in which screenplay to vote for on their Oscar ballot. Both the DGA and WGA unions will see their contracts expire in the next few months and a work stoppage could have serious ramifications for Hollywood.
