Charlotte Amy Louise, who has hypermobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) — a connective tissue disorder which can affect any part of the body, has a small opening on her stomach following an operation in 2018.This opening is known as a stoma.
The 23-year-old had her stoma fitted when her colon became paralysed as a teenager.And now, she uses her Instagram page to show that having a stoma is "not something to be looked down on".Her platform addresses strangers' questions, including very personal ones about her love life.
In one video, she reacted to a cruel comment that said "I'd never date someone with a stoma bag".She held a walking stick up, gesturing towards the comment and then shrugging her shoulders.In response, Charlotte defiantly mimed the words: "Nobody asked."The TikToker went on to explain how her boyfriend reacted to the news of her getting a stoma.
