The 20-year-old victim was at home before young males - aged between 14 and 15 - knocked her door on Clark Avenue in Musselburgh, East Lothian at 2.55pm on Wednesday, March 29.
As she answered, a takeaway cup containing a hot drink was thrown in her direction from from one of the boys.The duo then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The woman was left with a facial injury and is badly shaken as a result. The suspects are described as white, around 5ft 1in and of a medium build.
They were wearing all black clothing with their hoods up.Police Constable Michael Carde said: “This was an unprovoked attack and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward to assist with our enquiries.
