Rusholme was closed by police for the second time in a week after dozens of people gathered in the street and danced on cars.
Big crowds congregated on Wilmslow Road, also known as Curry Mile, on Wednesday night (August 19).It's understood that they gathered to celebrate Afghan Independence Day.Video footage shared on social media showed dozens of people lining the street waving flags and letting off flares.Some people were pictured dancing on top of cars and vans.Police officers reportedly had to close the road while the crowds were dispersed.Traffic alerts reported that it was shut between Dickenson Road and Moss Lane East.This is the second time in a week that the main road has been shut off due to large crowds.
