The wife of jailed Putin critic Alexei Navalny has been arrested by police at a massive protest in support of her husband in Moscow.
She announced the arrest in an Instagram post that she published while detained in the back of a police van. In a caption accompanying a selfie, she wrote: "Sorry for the poor quality.
Very bad light in the paddy wagon." Huge protests calling for the release of Navalny, who was detained last week as soon as he returned to Russia after being poisoned with the nerve agent novichok, were held across the country on Saturday despite temperatures as low as -52C.
