Paul Scholes has hit out at Manchester United’s players and transfer policy in the wake of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking. The Norwegian was dismissed as manager following a dismal run of results that saw United win just one of their last seven Premier League games.
Michael Carrick has been placed in caretaker charge of the team. Expectations were high at the start of the campaign after United finished second last term and brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane during the summer.
However, the Reds are currently eighth in the table, 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea and face a crucial Champions League group game against Villarreal on Tuesday evening.
