Alexander McQueen announced a partnership with Vestiaire’s new ‘Brand Approved’ scheme, in which it will buy back and authenticate second-hand McQueen items, which will then be listed for resale on Vestiaire.
A similar setup was trialled with Gucci and US-based re-commerce rival The RealReal in October. And Ralph Lauren joined forces with Depop to sell archive pieces for a limited time in 2019.It can only mean good things for keen second-hand shoppers like me.
I’ve been buying preloved clothes for years now - not exclusively - but I try to whenever possible and not only because it means I can score a bargain on designer must-haves, though I do on a regular basis.
