Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Charles Ingram original episode will not air on ITV

The original episode featuring Charles Ingram cheating his way to bag the top prize on Who Wants Be a Millionaire? will not be shown on ITV.

Following the overwhelming response to ITV's three-part series Quiz, which documents the "coughing scandal", viewers have begged the TV network to broadcast the programme featuring the former army Major work his way up to the jackpot.

An ITV spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: "There are no plans to air this episode on ITV. "There are rumours floating around but this isn’t the case nor in the schedule." Fans of Quiz took to social media, and claimed ITV are "missing a trick" if they decide not to air the episode. "They need to play the original Charles Ingram episode!
