There's no doubt about it, the price of shopping is rising. Essentials like bread, butter and teabags are all on the rise at a time when utility bills are increasing too.

So can you save money by shopping around? We bought the same five products from six different supermarkets to see what the difference is in price. We bought each store's own brand of butter, a Warburtons Toastie loaf, a four-pack of Heinz baked beans, six large eggs and a 240-pack of Tetley teabags from each supermarket - Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda, Aldi and Lidl.
