Gogglebox first launched in 2019, but the show is now one of Channel 4's greatest ever successes and regularly attracts audiences in their millions each week.
Now boasting over 25 series including spin-offs such as Gogglesprogs, the show has won 13 TV awards over its nine-year history.Gogglebox's most recent run started in February with a bang, with over five million people tuning in to see the cast react to The Masked Singer, First Dates: Valentine's, Dragons' Den and Dancing on Ice, but series 19 is soon set to come to an end.
Confirmed by cast member Abbie Lynn on Instagram, posting: "Last one of the series, let's goooo."Her co-star, Georgia Bell, who is expecting her first child, echoed Abbie's post on her own page, writing: "Filming the last ep of the series."Series 19 saw Paige and Sally Deville leave the hit show, while Mary Cook, Andrew Michael and Pete McGarry were also absent due to passing away prior to filming.Gogglebox's finale will be broadcast this Friday, 27 May, on Channel 4 at 9pm.
However, do not fear, plans are already in place to bring the show back for a 20th series.Channel 4's acclaimed programme is averaging around three series per year, so fans should have two more editions to watch in 2022, plus celebrity specials.
