Rio Ferdinand heaped praise on John Terry before ranking him as the fifth best central defender in Premier League history.The ranking, which was part of a recent BT Sport feature with Virgil van Dijk, has resulted in Terry hitting back at his former England teammate on his Instagram Story.
Terry posted a series of graphics showing his honours and defensive statistics as well as writing: "Opinions are great but stats don't lie..."Ferdinand had ranked himself, Van Dijk and former Manchester United defenders Nemanja Vidic and Jaap Stam ahead of Terry in his ranking of the five best centre-backs in Premier League history.However, Ferdinand did heap praise on Terry, whom he played alongside 35 times for the Three Lions, while justifying his inclusion in the top five.“In terms of his longevity at that club," explained Ferdinand.
