direct to your inboxThe first six coronavirus cases involving the Brazilian 'variant of concern' have been found in the UK.Public Health England has identified three cases of the variant, which was first detected in the Brazilian city of Manaus in January, in England and three in Scotland.Three cases are Scottish residents who flew to Aberdeen from Brazil via Paris and London, who all tested positive while self-isolating.Two cases in England are from the same household in South Gloucestershire after one person returned from Brazil on February 10 – days before hotel quarantine rules came into force in England.Health officials are yet to identify the sixth person, who is thought to have been tested on February 12 or 13, possibly via a home.
