West Ham are back on the trail of Barcelona right back Moussa Wague as fears grow over the future of Jeremy Ngakia. Hammers prospect Ngakia has rejected a new contract at the club and could leave this summer on a free unless he performs a U-turn.
Boss David Moyes had high hopes for Ngakia next season but the club are now making contingency plans in case he leaves. West Ham first enquired about Senegal international Wague in January but he moved on loan to French club Nice instead.
Now, the Hammers have returned to ask about the 21-year-old’s availability, after Nice failed to activate their option to buy.
And Barca are understood to be open to sending him back out on loan or doing a permanent deal if the right price can be negotiated.
