West Ham fear Newcastle could be poised to hijack their £30m move for Nayef Aguerd - as David Moyes targets a reunion with Adnan Januzaj.Rennes defender Aguerd flew in to London for a medical with the Hammers this week after a breakthrough in talks between the clubs.
But late interest from Newcastle has thrown the move into doubt, with Morocco star Aguerd yet to make up his mind on who to join.West Ham boss Moyes wants to sign a defender and a striker this summer but is also in the market for a forward with Nikola Vlasic's future unclear.The Hammers have made no progress with their interest in Jesse Lingard, but Moyes is now weighing up a surprise move for Januzaj.
Once touted as European football's next big thing, the former Manchester United winger was given his debut by Moyes nine years ago.
Now 27, the Belgium international is about to leave Real Sociedad on a free transfer and West Ham have made contact with his representatives.
