Local politicians have vowed to keep meeting their constituents - despite safety concerns after a Conservative MP was killed during a surgery.Sir David Amess, 69, a member for Southend had been an MP since 1983 and was attacked as he met constituents at a church on Friday.He was stabbed multiple times in an attack linked to Islamist extremism.Over the weekend Police Scotland contacted all of Scotland’s 59 MPs to advise them not to meet constituents alone without an appointment.The Scottish Parliament’s head of security has also written to all of the country’s 129 MSPs giving them similar advice.Paying tribute to Mr Amess, West Dunbartonshire MP Martin Docherty-Hughes vowed to continue to meet with local people - albeit whilst listening
