Manchester United are close to appointing Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager until the end of the season. The Manchester Evening News understands that the deal between United and Rangnick will see him join the club on a six-month contract as manager and then remain at the club for two years beyond the end of the season in a consultancy role.
United have been searching for a new manager since Sunday after the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, putting an end to his three-year reign as manager.
Currently, a deal has been struck between Rangnick and United — but not with Lokomotiv Moscow, who only acquired the services of the 63-year-old in July this year.
