Wayne Rooney is not in attendance at Derby County's Championship fixture away to Coventry City this afternoon due to illness and will instead watch at home.The club confirmed prior to the match that the former England and Manchester United striker had not recovered from illness enough to attend the match.
Instead, Rooney's assistant manager, Liam Rosenior, will instead take charge of the Rams as they aim to avoid defeat for a fifth successive league match.Rooney will watch the match from home instead but will remain in constant contact with his coaching staff as his side look to cut the gap to the sides above them.Derby currently sit bottom of the Championship with four points after being handed a 12-point deduction last month for entering.
