Michael Hopkins, 29, was seen on the footage hurling the package over a wall into HMP Forest Bank, which was quickly intercepted by the guards.
As police stepped up their patrols around the prison, they witnessed Hopkins, of Moston, emerge from the bushes weeks later and throw another package worth over £7,000, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.
