Warning to dog owners after border collie plunges 100ft off cliff onto stony beach

dog called Max had to be rescued from a beach after plunging 100ft from a cliff and getting trapped by the rising tide.In a video released by RNLI, the border collie is running around on the shingle after surviving the fall at Hawks Brow in Seaford without any apparent injury.The lifeboat crew call his name and tempt him over with some treats, before bundling him onto the boat for a choppy ride back to dry land on Wednesday (January 19)."Eh Max, I've bet you've not done this before," jokes one of the crew in the video.The lifeboat team then arrive on the shore and are able to reunite the well-behaved dog with his worried owner.James Johnson, Volunteer Navigator, said: "Given the dog had fallen over 100ft to the beach, it was astonishing to see him apparently unharmed."Max was incredibly lucky and we were relieved to return him to his owner."Lewis Arnold, the Coxswain, warned dog owners to put their animals on a leash in treacherous areas and to never attempt a rescue themselves.
