Vital funds raised for suicide prevention in North Lanarkshire

iOS - Android Grant Shearer, sport development officer told Lanarkshire Live: "This fantastic event has really helped raise community awareness about suicide prevention and we are so grateful to all those who took part.

The money raised will greatly help the outstanding work of the Samaritans charity."Participants who completed their chosen running or cycling distances received a medal, t-shirt and a pre-event sports goody pack which included a bag, snood and water bottle and information about suicide awareness and prevention.Last year saw a rise in the number of suicides across North Lanarkshire with the rate amongst 15-24 year-old men in Scotland at its highest since 2007; and the rate among 25-34 year-olds at its highest rate since.
