Video of the incident shared with the Manchester Evening News shows Fabio Goncalves, 26, handcuffed on Market Street while officers established that his bike was not stolen.
The incident happened on a busy Saturday evening and attracted a large crowd of onlookers. Fabio, a chef who lives in Openshaw, says he fully cooperated with police and there was no need for him to be arrested and handcuffed.
