Veteran RTÉ broadcaster, Donncha Ó Dúlaing, famous for his interviews with Irish historical figures and legendary stars, has passed away just one week after his wife.
Donncha, 88, who began his media career in 1964 was best known for his Highways and Byways series and more recently Fáilte Isteach on RTÉ Radio One.
Before his retirement in 2015, Donnacha had interviewed everyone from President Éamon de Valera and Pope John Paul II to Mick Jagger and Gene Kelly.
Donncha’s wife, Vera nee Galvin, who was a retired school teacher of St John’s Ballybrack, passed away last Sunday, one week before her husband.
