Ulrika Jonsson has confessed she is "nearing" the time for a hip replacement. The former Gladiators host, 54, admitted the news was difficult to take in because she saw it as a sign her body is "falling apart."Speaking to Mail Online, she said: "I've got a couple of friends who have had hip replacements and they're a bit older than me and I just thought that's not really something I want to be contemplating already."Ulrika admitted that she is a very active person and spends a lot of her time gardening or walking, so the news of her hip made her panic."For me it was a bit of fear and panic because you just think it's not really something you can halt.

This is a sign that my body is falling apart," she continued. The star explained that she has started doing Zero Gravity Pilates to cope with her "pretty horrendous" spells of arthritis that occasionally leaves her thinking "I can't move."The former weather presenter was diagnosed with the degenerative condition in both hips around four years ago and has been forced to give up running because of it.She explained: "I started about a month ago, Zero Gravity Pilates.

It's using that reformer that piece of equipment that looks like something out of Fifty Shades of Grey and because it's zero gravity you're not putting any pressure on the muscles."She went on to admit that what she goes through is "pretty tough" and working from home makes it harder because she can't sit down for long periods of time."The big thing is I work for the most time at home and I'm often sitting down writing and I just can't sit down for long periods of time,' the mum-of-four explained. She continued: "I've spent two or three hours in a car getting into London it's pretty tough.
