Brits face warnings of thunderstorms and flooding for the south while warm, sunny weather is predicted to continue for the north of England.

After a week of scorching weather with the mercury rising above 30C in parts of the country, the unsettled weather has returned for many this weekend - and it is likely to go on into next week.

Flood alerts are in place in 12 areas of the South East of England and heavy showers and thunderstorms are predicted by the Met Office for the south.

At the same time parts of the northern England and Wales were bathed in sunshine on Saturday and it is set to be a similar story on Sunday.
