Sign up today for the best stories straight to your inboxDrivers are being warned to take extra care on the roads this morning as rain has begun battering Britain.Huge downpours are drenching the country today, with the majority suffering wet conditions.Storm Barbara will lash England, Wales, Northern Ireland and most of Scotland.Only southern and eastern parts of Scotland are expected to be spared, according to the Met Office.Yellow weather warnings are in place for the south and south-east of England as the downpours dominate.There are also yellow warnings for wind across the south-east, with speeds forecast to reach up to 55mph.It comes after a balmy break from soaking conditions on.
