Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps is the most politically correct BBC comedy of the last 20 years, according to writer Susan Nickson.The laddish sitcom, which starred Ralf Little, Will Mellor, Sheridan Smith, Natalie Casey and Kathryn Drysdale, aired between 2001 and 2011.And screenwriter Susan has revealed that the BBC Archive department has revisited every episode of the programme to remove any jokes that could be deemed offensive to a modern audience.READ MORE: Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps star Will Mellor says reboot is 'revamped'It is part of a project by BBC Archive to check all culturally significant programming from the last 20 years to ensure any offensive material is omitted from those shows.Susan, 40, has been told that Two Pints has been left intact because “they can’t find anything offensive to take out”, despite its reputation as a “reassuringly offensive” comedy.She said: “The BBC are going through the archives at the minute and having to fillet out anything that’s offensive.“Our brand was, I think the publicity department at the time came up with ‘reassuringly offensive’ to replicate a certain beer brand’s advert.“They’ve gone through an awful lot of comedy programmes over the last 20 years to put in the archives and they’ve taken out things that people might find offensive in 2022 and Two Pints is one of the only shows where they can’t find anything offensive to take out.“Because there’s no racism, there’s no sexism, there’s nothing.”Susan previously revealed that she has an idea for a new series of Two Pints which will focus on ageing best mates Gaz Wilkinson and Jonny Keogh - played by Will and Ralf respectively - and how they are coping in a world where toxic masculinity is being.
