Officers were called to Victoria Square at about 11pm on Sunday (May 9). A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital with 'non-life-threatening injuries'.
Two men have since been charged with robbery and assault. Regan Sharples, 21, of Shaw Road, Horwich; and Patrick Cullen, 21, of no fixed address, appeared at Wigan Magistrates' Court yesterday (May 11).
They were remanded in custody and will next appear at Bolton Crown Court on June 7. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
