The Games' organising committee announced on Saturday that a person involved in the competition had been stripped of their accreditation.
At a time of heightened concern in Tokyo about the pandemic, the sightseeing trip is a blatant violation of the event's anti-Covid rules.
It is the first time any person attending the event has seen their accreditation rescinded since the Olympics began on July 23.
