Two dead and 125 rescued so far as desperate workers 'jump' from massive factory blaze

blaze broke out at a packaging factory in Surat, a city in India's Gujarat state.125 workers have been saved so far by the fire department according to sub-divisional magistrate KG Vaghela.

10 fire brigades have responded to the scene with two hydraulic lifts in place.The blaze is said to have started on the fifth floor of the factory, and local reports suggest that workers were jumping from the building in a desperate bid to save themselves.More than 100 of the workers were pulled from the burning building by a hydraulic lift.Rupal Solanki, Deputy Superintendent of Police in the town of Bardoli, sadly confirmed: "Two people have died following the incident."In terrifying footage shared on Twitter, workers could be seen waving frantically.
