He played one season of college basketball for Texas before being drafted fourth overall by the Cavaliers in the 2011 NBA draft. He also represents Canada in international competition. Thompson won an NBA championship with the Cavaliers in 2016.

During a new interview, a former very close friend of the Kardashians revealed that she dated Tristan before Khloe.
