Tragic co-star death sparked Rachel Stevens' split from Hollyoaks actor fiancé

The Dancing On Ice star got engaged to Hollyoaks and Holby City actor Jeremy in 2002. But things went awry the following year after Jeremy's Holby co-star Laura Sadler fell from the balcony of a flat in London and died.The actor told the BBC at the time: "Everybody in the cast is completely devastated and is asking the same question, 'Why her?'"You couldn't meet a sweeter, nicer, more wonderful girl.
She was the kindest person and even actor friends of mine who did just one episode with her are mortified. She was just the loveliest little thing."Jeremy was later quoted as telling Heat magazine that it was a "tough time" for him and that he and Rachel ended up taking some time out from their relationship.He was quoted as saying: "After Laura's death I got really messed up.
I was drinking a hell of a lot and got seriously depressed."It really shook me up. Losing such a close friend pushed me off the rails and sadly Rachel got caught up in my mess."It was at this point she confronted me about my problems and we agreed to have a break."The pair did rekindle their romance and continued on with plans to tie the knot.But in 2004 they called time on their relationship for good.Jeremy has now shared that when their wedding was still on they were offered £2 million for the photos – and for snaps of their first baby.
