Tracee Ellis Ross or Kenan Thompson.Both have been comedy staples for decades: Ross spent eight years on “Girlfriends” before jumping onto ABC’s “Black-ish,” which is now another sitcom with an eight-season run and a show for which she has nabbed five lead comedy actress Emmy nominations.
Meanwhile, Thompson was known for kids’ favorites “All That” and “Kenan & Kel” before joining “Saturday Night Live,” where he is now the longest-tenured cast member and for which he snapped up a music and lyrics Emmy in 2018.
Now he pulls double duty on NBC’s late-night sketch series and his own eponymous sitcom on the same network and is seeing new Emmy noms for each (lead comedy actor for “Kenan,” supporting comedy actor for “SNL”).
