Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma has been cleared of sexual assault allegations dating back to an incident in October last year.
Bissouma, 25, and a man in his 40s were arrested on October 6, 2021, after police were called to a nightclub in Brighton. While the man in his 40s remains under investigation, Bissouma is now in the clear and no further action will be taken against the midfielder.A spokesperson from Sussex Police told the Daily Mail: "A man in his 40s from Brighton who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has had his conditional bail extended until July 4, 2022.READ MORE: Six sports stars who turned to politics including Romario as ex-Roma ace becomes mayor"A man in his 20s, also from Brighton, who was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault has been released with no further action to be taken.
The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time."Bissouma had his bail conditions amended so that he could participate in the Africa Cup of Nations with Mali in January and February.
Bissouma made 21 appearances for Brighton following his initial arrest.The midfielder made 28 appearances in total for the Seagulls last term, with his good form earning him a £25million move to Spurs at the start of the summer transfer window.
