Sir Philip Green's fashion empire, Arcadia, has crashed into administration with 444 stores and more than 13,000 jobs at risk.

Administrators at Deloitte have tonight been appointed to manage the retail giant - which also includes the Topshop and Topman brands.

Around 9,294 employees remain on furlough, however no redundancies have been confirmed. A statement added that all stores will continue to trade as a result of the announcement - with administrators honouring all online orders made over the Black Friday weekend.

The group - acquired by Green for £850million in 2002 - had been seeking a cash injection to help it plug the gap from lost sales during the pandemic.
