Toni Kroos has said he had so much to drink after Bayern Munich's Champions League final defeat to Chelsea that he had to call an emergency doctor.
Kroos, who now plays for Real Madrid, said "there was no other way" of easing the agony of the penalty-shootout loss in 2012.
The Bundesliga giants looked set for victory in their own Allianz Arena after Thomas Muller netted the opener with just seven minutes of normal time remaining.
But Didier Drogba headed home a late equaliser, before despatching the winning spot-kick after Bastian Schweinsteiger had hit the post during the shootout.
