Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Tiger King's Joe Exotic demands release from prison after claiming he's been 'kidnapped'

Joe Exotic has sensationally claimed he is part of a "political kidnapping" in a brand new audio clip. The Tiger King star is currently serving 22 years in prison for the murder-for-hire plot of Carole Baskin as well as animal abuse charges.

But he has labelled his sentence as "a black cloud" over the American justice system. The eccentric star pleaded for a presidential pardon while speaking from Fort Worth Medical Center in Texas where he is currently being detained.

And he has announced his desire to fight for criminal justice reform while also slamming the US Attorney’s office and federal agents.

The 58-year-old recorded his tirade for The Social Media Superstar Awards where his Netflix documentary won an award in the Entertainment
