But it was Carlo Ancelotti's side who went ahead when Vinicius got free down the right before crossing into Karim Benzema who powered a header past Edouard Mendy.Within three minutes the visitors had doubled their lead, with Benzema delivering an even better header to guide Luka Modric's cross into the bottom corner.
Kai Havertz appeared to have rescued Chelsea's hopes when he bravely headed in Jorginho's cross five minutes before the break.Thomas Tuchel changed formation for the second-half, but Benzema completed his hat-trick within a minute of the restart when he slotted into an empty net following Mendy's mis-judged pass.
