Three people have been rushed to hospital after a major house explosion in Ayr. Scottish Ambulance Service say they transported three adults to Crosshouse Hospital by road.
An air ambulance was sent to the scene on Gorse Park in the Kincaidston area as a major incident was declared tonight around 7.30pm.Three specialist operation units were also sent as residents were evacuated from their homes.
Police have told stricken residents they will be unable to return home tonight.One frightened neighbour told how the scene was like 'ground zero' another said the street resembled a 'warzone'.
The huge blast was heard all for miles which caused houses to shake. Health Secretary Humza Yousaf says the explosion is an "awful incident".
