Police Scotland has confirmed the trio, aged 22, 26 and 28, were arrested on Tuesday night in the upmarket Glasgow suburb of Newton Mearns.
They were detained after a Ford Fiesta was stopped in the suburb's Netherton Road at around 10.55pm on September 29. They have been charged in connection with conspiracy to commit fire raising and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later today, Thursday, October 1, 2020.
Chief Inspector Bryan McGeogh, Area Commander for East Renfrewshire, said: "Whilst investigations are ongoing, there will continue to be additional police patrols carried out in the Newton Mains area."I would like to reassure the community that there is not believed to be any risk to the wider public.".
