Thousands of Brits face fresh holiday chaos as even more flights axed from next week

travel chaos couldn't get any worse, airlines have announced a spate of fresh flight cancellations that are set to throw summer getaways into disarray.It is understood airlines using the country's main airport Heathrow are now racing to rework their flight schedules ahead of a Friday (June 8) deadline.British Airways is expected to face the brunt of cancellations, according to the Daily Telegraph. READ MORE: Community on tenterhooks after cats found cut in half 'with surgical precision'The airline said via a spokesman that it "welcomes the new measures” as it provides "certainty to our customers".They added that the cancellations will “help us to provide the certainty our customers deserve by making it easier to consolidate some of our quieter daily flights to multi-frequency destinations well in advance”.It follows a move last month to allow airlines to hand back landing and take-off slots if they are unable to use them despite having paid ahead of the season.
