Phillip, 58, was on the BBC programme on Wednesday night ahead of the release of his first book. Life's What You Make It, which is released today, sees the TV star bravely discuss the depths of his despair as he grappled with his sexuality.
In the book he speaks of the moment he told his This Morning co-host and best pal Holly that he was gay before she joined him on the ITV show to interview him when he came out in February.
Paying tribute to the mum-of-three, Phillip said on The One Show: "I couldn't have done that with anyone else."I wouldn't have wanted anyone else sitting beside me."We'd had a big lead up to that moment.
