Don't miss a thing by signing up to the MyOldham newsletter here Shoppers in Oldham remain unconvinced by the local authority’s plan to move traders into a larger shopping centre to boost footfall.

Earlier this week, Oldham council revealed their full plans for the Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre in the heart of the town, which would see traders currently based at Tommyfield Market move into part of the site.

With spaces for events and demonstrations near the stalls, a larger event space above the market to boost the town’s nightlife, and office space for workers above shops in the main part of the building, officials at the town hall have tried to address people’s concerns about the site.
