A nurse has been hailed a hero for rushing to help injured passengers after a bus crashed into a building in Bolton .

Alison Goodwin was out having drinks in Westhoughton when she witnessed a Stagecoach bus plough into a gym on School Street.

It’s alleged the driver of the number 7 service suffered a medical episode at the wheel at around 6.40pm on June 10. Alison, who works as a nurse, immediately jumped into action by running to aid those onboard.

The 37-year-old spent time tending to cuts, performing first and ensuring no one was trapped while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
