Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Neil Lennon didn't need a shower of boos at the final whistle to let him know the significance of last month's Champions League second qualifying round shock.
Ferencvaros - following on from setbacks against Cluj and Copenhagen last season - celebrated the night away in Glasgow's East End as they became the latest side to earn a signature win at a ground that was once labelled Fortress Paradise. And Lennon is a man who knows more than anyone the magic of Parkhead on a Euro night as both a player and a manager.
The Celtic hero lost only once in 15 Champions League group stage games as a player on home turf and has secured wins over the likes of Barcelona, Ajax, Spartak Moscow and Lazio as Hoops boss.
