THE Sun's Who Cares Wins viewers broke down in tears as a hero who died rescuing a woman from the River Thames was honoured with the Ultimate Lifesaver gong.
Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole - known as Jimi - jumped into the freezing water after hearing cries for help. It was a selfless act of bravery that cost the promising 20-year-old footballer his life.
Picking up the award on his behalf, Jimi's heartbroken parents Michael and Olasunkanmi, said through tears: "It is so sad he's not here today. "Thank you everybody." The moment, which aired moved viewers who had watched the heartwarming ceremony on Channel 4 tonight, celebrating the selfless nominees.
