These striking maps show how Greater Manchester heeded the coronavirus lockdown and stayed at home for the Easter weekend. The first map (below) shows the region's roads at 5pm on Maundy Thursday last year, with red lines indicating the highest volumes of traffic.
Underneath the second image shows the state of the roads at the same time yesterday - with a dramatic fall in traffic levels and not a red line to be seen.
It suggests most people are following the Government’s coronavirus lockdown instruction not to visit tourist hotspots this weekend.
